Dashboard Widgets

The dashboard is a personal workspace made from focused widgets. Widgets can summarize current data, highlight work that needs attention, or start a common task.

The available catalog depends on your permissions and enabled integrations. Hiding a widget changes your dashboard only; it does not disable the underlying WORKloom feature.

Customize your dashboard

  1. Open Dashboard.
  2. Select Customize.
  3. Add hidden widgets or remove ones you do not need.
  4. Move widgets up, down, left, or right in the desktop layout.
  5. Switch to Mobile to set a separate single-column order.
  6. Open a widget's settings when available.
  7. Save the layout.

Cancel discards the current layout edits. Reset layout returns the dashboard to its default arrangement.

Widgets use small or medium cards across three desktop columns. On mobile they appear in the order configured in Mobile customization.

Contracts

Active Contracts

Shows active-contract totals and contracts approaching expiry. The expiry warning window is configurable and defaults to 45 days. Links open filtered contract lists.

Requires: permission to read contracts.

Recent Contracts

Shows contracts that were recently added or updated, with a link to the complete Contracts area.

Requires: permission to read contracts.

New Contract by Document

Uploads a contract or offer document, runs AI extraction, and opens a review step before pre-filling the contract form. The contract is created only after the reviewed form is submitted.

Requires: contract creation and compensation-reading permissions. File upload and AI controls also depend on their corresponding capabilities.

People and workspace quality

Team Snapshot

Shows counts for active, draft, invited, and inactive people, plus candidates. Each count opens the matching People filter.

Settings let you hide individual statuses without removing the entire widget.

Requires: permission to view members.

Add Person by Resume

Uploads a resume and uses AI extraction to create an inactive person record. After creation, WORKloom opens the new profile so you can review and complete it before inviting the person.

Requires: permission to create members.

Missing Data

Highlights people missing important information. It can check for:

  • Email or primary email
  • Position
  • Manager
  • Contract
  • Leave entitlement
  • Bank information, when relevant

Settings control which checks appear and whether the scope includes active or other members. Selecting an item opens an appropriately filtered People list.

Requires: permission to view members.

File Stats

Shows the number and total size of files stored in the workspace and links to Files.

Requires: file-management permission.

Time and leave

Recent Time Entries

Shows the latest time-tracking records available to you, providing a quick route into the Time Entries area.

Requires: permission to read time entries.

Leaves

Shows current and upcoming leave visible to you. Scope follows your permissions: this may be your own leave, your team, or broader workspace leave. The widget links to the leave calendar.

The number of displayed entries is configurable and defaults to five.

Requires: at least permission to view your own leave requests.

Expenses

Create Claim by Document

Accepts a PDF, JPEG, PNG, or WebP receipt or invoice. After upload it opens the expense extraction page, where you review the proposed claim type, date, merchant, amount, currency, and description before saving.

This widget starts a claim; it does not submit an automatic approval decision or mark the expense as paid.

Requires: claim creation, expense AI extraction, and file-upload permissions.

Recruitment

Open Positions

Summarizes open positions, candidates, and interview status. Its counts link into the corresponding Recruitment views.

Requires: permission to read positions.

Quick navigation

Quick Actions

Provides shortcuts to common tasks such as creating a contract, logging time, or creating a project. Links inside the widget are filtered individually, so people see only actions they are permitted to use.

GitHub

Engineering Activity Pulse

Compares team GitHub activity for the current and previous week, including commits, pull requests, and submitted reviews.

The widget offers an integration setup link when GitHub is not connected. Team data remains subject to activity visibility permissions.

My GitHub Activity

Shows your own commits, pull requests, and reviews for this week compared with last week. If your GitHub identity is not linked, the widget directs you to integration settings.

Requires: permission to view your own GitHub activity. GitHub widgets are unavailable when the integration is disabled for the workspace.

Shortcut

Task Pulse

Shows team-level Shortcut delivery signals: stories completed, stories started, and workflow distribution.

Settings include the Shortcut team, reporting period, and scope. The default reporting period is 14 days.

Requires: permission to view Shortcut activity.

My Shortcut Activity

Shows your own assigned, started, and completed Shortcut stories for the last two weeks. If your identity mapping is missing, the widget directs you to integration settings.

Requires: permission to view your own Shortcut activity.

Why a widget might not appear

A widget can be absent because:

  • It is hidden in your saved dashboard layout.
  • Your role lacks one or more required permissions.
  • The corresponding integration is not enabled.
  • The workspace has disabled the module.
  • There is no usable data or identity mapping yet.

Enter Customize mode to check the hidden-widget catalog first. If the widget is not offered there, ask a workspace owner about permissions or feature configuration.

For workspace administrators: Team Snapshot, Missing Data, Active Contracts, Recent Contracts, File Stats, Open Positions.

For managers: Leaves, Recent Time Entries, Active Contracts, Quick Actions, and the relevant GitHub or Shortcut team pulse.

For individual contributors: Quick Actions, Leaves, My GitHub Activity, My Shortcut Activity, and Recent Time Entries where permitted.
