Time Entries

Time entries record work for a particular date. Each entry has a duration and can optionally be linked to a project or contract.

Add or edit an entry

  1. Open Time Entries, or open a person's profile and select Time.
  2. Select Add entry.
  3. Enter the date and hours.
  4. Optionally select a project, contract, and note.
  5. Save.

You can edit an entry while your permissions and its approval state allow it. Managers with team-edit permission can correct entries for other people.

Use the date range

The Time Entries page can show a selected period rather than only the current day. Use the date controls to move between periods or choose a custom range. The personal/team control determines whether you see your own entries or entries you are allowed to manage.

A project explains which initiative the time belongs to. A contract connects work to the commercial or employment terms used for reporting and payroll. An entry can reference both, either, or neither.

Unlinked time still counts toward a person's total, but will not appear in project or contract breakdowns.

Approving time entries

If you have approval permission, open the team view and enter approval mode. You can select pending entries and approve them together. The page distinguishes approved entries from entries still awaiting review.

Authorized users can remove an approval when a correction is required. After the entry is fixed, review and approve it again.

Approval matters for hourly payroll: only eligible approved time in the payroll period is used in gross-pay calculations.

Reports

Use the reporting action to export the selected period as a PDF. Before exporting, confirm the date range and whether you are viewing your own entries or a team member's entries.

Good practice

Log time regularly, choose the relevant project, and add a concise note when the entry would otherwise be ambiguous. Approvers should resolve questionable entries before payroll is calculated.
